Focus Asia and Japan

The highlight of Fokus Asia is the study tour to Japan. After a year of learning about culture, language, art, history and pop culture, we travel to experience it all in real life – with our own senses and stories.

We start in Tokyo – a city of motion, lights, noise and wonder. We explore futuristic tech, shrines, themed cafés and fashion streets. From crowded trains to peaceful temples, Tokyo is a world of contrasts. Then we head to Kyoto, the city of calm. Here we walk through bamboo forests, sip tea at a tradisional tea ceremony, visit zen gardens and – if we’re lucky – catch a glimpse of a real geisha.

Along the way we visit cultural sites, sacred places, and living traditions. We taste authentic Japanese food, practice our etiquette, navigate the subway, and connect with locals.

This isn’t your average school trip. It’s an experience – a deep dive into real Japan. You won’t just travel across the world. You’ll grow, reflect, and see things differently.

And yes – if the timing is right, cherry blossoms will be in full bloom when we’re there.

Da vi har spennende utenlandsturer på begge linjene du som elev går på, har vi valgt å legge fellesturene til vakre og spennende omgivelser i Norge. Vi arrangerer blant annet en super tur til Preikestolen utenfor Stavanger.

Foruten flere fellesturer setter vi også av tid til fellesarrangementer som:

• konserter
• kinoforestillinger
• seminar
• foredrag 

Alle elevene ved Karmøy Folkehøgskole deltar på minst 2 utenlandsturer gjennom sine 2 linjer. Enkelte elever deltar på opptil 4 utlandsturer avhengig av hvilke linjer de har valgt. Derfor har vi lagt opp til en kortere felles skoletur til Preikestolen og Stavanger. Skolen ønsker også at våre elever får delta på lokale kulturelle arrangement i skolens nærmiljø, dvs på Haugalandet. Dette er for eksempel spennende konserter, kinoforestillinger, teater og byvandring.
