Experience Lofoten's unique winter energy, and learn the best sports the region has to offer, both in the mountains and at sea: mainly skiing, but also kayaking and other adrenaline-filled activities!

In this half-year course, you will get to know Lofoten well through the best winter activities the region has to offer. Here, we explore the endless possibilities for an active lifestyle and sports at the intersection of mountains, sea, weather, and wind.

Most of the course is dedicated to ski touring on randonee/splitboard in the magical Lofoten mountains, but you will also learn to paddle sea kayaks and obtain a wet certification, in addition to other activities that you prioritize on the program.

Many people rank winter in Lofoten as the best because of the light and the endless opportunities the winter landscape offers. Most of the course will be spent on skis. We will venture into the Lofoten mountains on randonee/splitboard and receive thorough training in avalanche theory and safe travel in the winter mountains. During the winter, we will also practice ski techniques at ski resorts, go on mountaineering camps, explore other winter activities, learn sea kayaking, and try indoor climbing.

In this half-year course, you will also get to know students and teachers from other programs at the school through various common subjects and electives.

Lofoten is the perfect basecamp for those who want an active and playful lifestyle – and in this half-year course, we make the most of these opportunities!

Our goal is plenty of fellowship, skills and traditional outdoor living, all through the dark winter days, and into the white nights. There will be challenges like biking, telemark skiing, peak hiking, climbing, hunting and fishing. You will be instructed in the making of necessary equipment, first aid, security, scouting, guiding and how nature and culture interwine.

We offer major subjects within these areas:
Outdoor life: * Mountaineering * Telemark/ Climbing * Lofoten
Photography: * Natur * Pro
